Windows 10: Latest Windows update causes a blue screen of death!

Hi,
The issue I have been having is related to the latest Windows 10 update which installed on my laptop (HP Envy 13) around December 23. After the update the laptop refused to boot up, giving me the notorious “blue screen of death” and a notification of some SrtTrail.txt error. I used the HP diagnostics tool to ensure that all hardware was ok and then attempted to repair the system. It failed, no matter what I tried. Thus, I used the factory restore option which helped me to get my laptop going again. However, the problem is that I cannot stop Windows from downloading and applying that bloody 1803 update again (since, as you know, it's not an option in Windows 10 to postpone the updates indefinitely) and screwing me over. Therefore, I would like to know what I am to do about it, as it makes me a seriously unhappy customer of both MS and HP, for it renders my laptop pretty much useless!

• Did you reinstall the update and the application after resetting the computer to factory settings?

I have tried all of the options there, Which is why i included in my post the lists of things that i performed to isolate the cause of bsod. Thanks

Are you serious??!! I have never had a pirated version of any os... This comment of yours is outraging.

 

Hi Petr, sorry for that but I have seen major people using pirated version & then using KMSpico to activate it. Which finally ends up sending virus, malware to the system. Why don't you prefer to disable Windows update permanently?

 

Well, I don't want to disable Win update permanently, besides it's not even an option in Win10 anyway, or is it? The problem I am having is just with the recent update which broke my laptop for whatever reason. And now I am still waiting for that private message promised by Peer_Sam above, so I can send him all the information he requested. No e-mail so far...
