Windows 10: Latest Windows Update causing Audio problems

Hi,


I just recently updated my Windows software and began having audio issues.


For me this manifests as my Bluetooth headset repeatedly flickering between connected, voice, then audio. The connection is active, the device just isn't usable.


I am looking at other users who are posting here and it seems the latest update has cause a LOT of audio issues. I just want to create a discussion for anybody else who might be experiencing audio issues due to the update.

Hi Louis,

Your audio may not be working after the latest update if you have outdated audio drivers. Have you tried updating them? You may check your driver manufacturer's website for the latest drivers for it.

You may run the Playing Audio Troubleshooter to find and repair problems with playing sound.

• Right-click the Start icon, then select Control Panel.
  
• Choose the Large icons option from the View by drop-down list found on the upper-right part of the Control Panel window.
  
• Locate then select Troubleshooting.
  
• Click View all from the left pane.
  
• Locate and click Playing Audio to run the troubleshooter then follow the next steps.

Hi there SimonWildZX, I will be your Independent Advisor for today, I hope we can both resolve your problem.

May I suggest to completely uninstall all Audio drivers listed in the Device manager including the headset. Please make sure to completely remove.

Here is how to do it.

Here the steps to completely remove a Device off your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.

Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry Sound and Audio devices. Right-click the problematic device and select Uninstall device.

Step 4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.

Step 5. Reboot the computer.

Repeat the steps in all the Audio devices listed.

Then reboot. then test the headset again.
