Windows 10: Latest Windows update decided to break my computer, anyone know a fix?

Latest update breaks computer

Hi,

Today I noticed my kids computer was stuck at boot up. Nothing I could do would make it boot so I needed to boot from a recovery USB stick and go back to the last restore point (Dec 8, before the latest **** update).

Anyway, after the restore, it started working again, but unfortunately, the latest windows update was automatically installed, and the computer is dead again. So, I try another round: back to latest restore point, computer works fine, updates automatically
applied, dead computer.

I'm not sure what to do. Clearly the latest update is breaking Windows, but I can't stop it from installing. I was thinking of a clean install of windows, but this computer was one of those automatically upgraded from windows 7, do I don't even have a license
key for windows 10, so I don't know if I can even do a clean install.

Does anyone have a suggestion? Is there at least a way to block the updates so that my kids can use the computer for homework? Is there anyway to figure out what about the update is destroying the computer? I really, really don't want to do a clean install
because it will take forever to re-install all the software, but if I need to do that, how do I re-authenticate the windows license?

These unstoppable windows updates are truly terrible.

Check the date on the one you thought it was. Nov 4 2015 <-That's not June

The rollup does contain the fix.

• Fix for a Windows Update error 0x8007000E on some computers while they are updating.
• Some reliability improvements.

They made it part of the WU client then, or it's two different things doing the same. Too bad you can't download it separately.
