  1. Latest Windows updates at tortoise speed 2 hours and it's at 11% only.

So I decided to restart and update my Windows 10, and its almost 2 hours since I did, and right now it's only at just 11%. And it has been at 11% for the last hour or so.

    It looks like this:

Latest Windows updates at tortoise speed 2 hours and it's at 11% only. [IMG]

    It says:

    Working on updates 11%

Don't disconnect your PC. This action can take a few minutes. Quite a few of them, it seems

Your PC will restart multiple times.

Has anyone had this? How long did it take? Is there any solution? It's really frustrating, having no idea how long will it take, not being able to turn it off, because that can end up in more problems.

    :)

  2. 11 1/2 hours for the Spring update?!!!

It took 11 hours 38 minutes to do the Spring update on my laptop! This is a 2 year old Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop with an I5 CPU, 8 GB RAM, 100 Mbps download speed and 5400 rpm hard drive. It took 5 hours for the first part of the update
to reach 100%, but then it downloaded what it called the 1803 enhancement and took an additional 5 hours 38 minutes to complete. It must've rebooted 6 times during the process. And this laptop was current on updates as of the end of April.

Now I have to ask, isn't it obvious that there's great room for improvement in the way these 6 month updates are implemented? I can do a full system backup in 45 minutes, so it seems totally unreasonable for it to take more than 15 times longer to do this
update. I sure hope MS revisits and improves this process for the next major update. Latest Windows updates at tortoise speed 2 hours and it's at 11% only. :(
