Windows 10: Latin América keyboard special characters double repeating accents

I've had the computer working fine for over two years and now, just a couple if days ago, every time I try to use an accented character by typing the accent special character and then the vowel, it types two accents and the letter with no accent. Actually just hitting the accent special character which shouldn't do anything until you type the vowel now shows two accent characters. This happens also with the two dots that go above the letter u in some words in Spanish called the diéresis.Here's what I have tried so far...1 Scanning for viruses, adware, spyware and malware using several too

Troubles with accent on QWERTY keyboard

Conflicts with the keyboard settings after the update is one of the possible reasons why you are having issues creating an accented letter using your keyboard. For us to assist you better, kindly answer the questions below:

• Which OS build number of Windows 10 is currently installed? To check, press the
  Windows key, type winver, and press the
  Enter key.
• What application or platform are you trying to input this character?
• What is the make and model of your keyboard?
• Have you tried updating the keyboard driver?

Meanwhile, you can try to use the Character Map and check if you will be able to insert the accented letters. The Character Map was made to allow users to insert special characters on their documents. To open the Character Map, You can follow these steps:

• Press the Windows key + S to open Search
  Bar.
• Type Character Map, then click it.
• When the application launches, look for the special character that you want to insert on your document.

Special characters in us international keyboard

I write in Spanish and English. For Spanish special characters such as accents, I have used the US English International keyboard layout for years (Windows XP, 7, 8) with no problem. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I now have accents but no tilde
(~) for the n. I have not changed the keyboard layout. Can anybody help?

I understand that you are facing difficulties with the French and Spanish keyboard layouts. In few keyboard layouts that are installed with the language pack, the accented characters appear by just pressing the symbol keys. However,
you can also check the suggestion below and see if it is helpful to you.



Using United States-International keyboard layout for the installed Language pack:

1. Press the Windows key and
   I key, this will open the Settings app for you.
   
2. Select Time & Language, on the left pane click on
   Language.
   
3. Select the French or Spanish language pack that you have already installed and select
   Options.
   
4. Under Keyboards, click on
   Add a keyboard.
   
5. Add the United States-International keyboard and remove the standard keyboard for that language.
   
6. Now in the taskbar, you should be able to see the
   United States-International keyboard under the language pack that you selected. Alternatively, you can press the
   Windows key and Space key to switch between the input languages.
   

Check if you are able to type the accented characters.
