Windows 10: LCU files missing, know directory I need, how do I get it back?

All of the articles I can find online regarding LCU files are "Can I delete them?"I cannot install the latest windows 10 cumulative update because there is a missing LCU directory structure at \windows\servicing\lcu. Normally there are the previous 3 LCU directories there, but now there is only one. So I know the name of the missing directory, from CBS log file, but I cannot find anywhere how to download this directory back. I have no idea how the other 2 directories were deleted.

  Press Windows + E keys together.

  Go to This PC and select C drive.
  
• 
  Right click on any of the files.
  
• 
  Select properties and find the location of the file.

Directory Size Utility

First of all nice utility, Mindweaver!
Second of all, it's so nice to see that this section ain't dead.

I have a few questions/suggestions, maybe you'd want to see ...

• maybe you rename Get Folder button caption to something more intuitive? Add Folder, Get Folder Size, Check Folder Size or something like that?
  
• Could you add subfolder files to the right pane? (it can be a tickbox with include sub dirs)
  
• maybe you also add export list to excel?
  
• there's delete file button maybe you add delete folder button too?
  
• and finally maybe you can add UP button for directories?

 

Missing directory

It's possible that the E:\Bryan directory is hidden or has been accidentally moved to a different location on the E drive.

Here is my suggestion:

Use the command prompt to navigate to the E drive and run the command "dir /a" to display all files and directories, including hidden ones. Look for the Bryan directory in the list.

Check if the Bryan directory is marked as hidden. To do this, open the File Explorer and navigate to the E drive. Go to the View tab and check the "Hidden items" box. Look for the Bryan directory again.

Check the Recycle Bin on the E drive to see if the Bryan directory was accidentally deleted and not restored properly.

Use a third-party file recovery tool to search the E drive for any deleted files or directories.

If you have a recent backup, check if the Bryan directory is included in the backup. You may be able to restore it from there.

If you are unable to locate the missing E:\Bryan directory using the methods mentioned in the previous answer, you can try using a third-party data recovery software to recover the lost files.
