Windows 10: Left Alt Codes with External Numpad in Windows 10 are not functional whatsoever.

Hi there,It will be quite long, because I want to be as accurate as possible. TL;DR left alt codes do not work with USB numpads in Windows 10 and how do I make it work.I use a USB keyboard without a numpad and a USB numpad. Brands do not matter. What matters is that the numpad is separate from the keyboard. So the left alt codes should be software-driven rather than hardware-driven. But Windows lacks that functionality. It basically doesn't understand what {left alt down} {numpad 0 down up} {numpad 1 down up} {numpad 2 down up} {numpad 8 down up} {left alt up} means. It doesn't understand that

Codes ALT+NumPad

The part codes ALT+NumPad are not functioning on this PC. When I worked on the other PC all of them were functioning but now I can input just
ALT+NumPad codes from 32 to 255

 

Certain ALT+NumPad codes don't function

On other computers, I could do it. But now, I can only input ALT+NumPad codes from 32 to 255! What happened and how do I fix this?

 

All alt codes doesn't work

I am trying to add some special characters using alt codes on my laptop running Windows 10. None of the codes work.

I tried random alt codes to see if the problem was the specific characters and none of them work.

I am using an external numpad because my laptop doesn't come with one and doesn't have the Numlock option on the keyboard. The numpad is working properly for input

Steps that I have done:

1. Turn off the 'Use Mousekey when Numlock is On' as per this post (my default was Mousekey off altogether). I
know that other advice suggested otherwise (turn it on instead). But that doesn't make sense for me because then I couldn't use the numpad for its default use. I also used the alt codes at the office with a keyboard+numpad and I think the Mousekey was off
as well.

2. Adding EnableHexNumpad to the registry

Please let me know if there are other things I could do or what the cause might be.
