Windows 10: left mouse button doesn't allow highlighting any more?

I see other similar questions, but answers don't really get to what my problem really is. I just want to highlight a piece of text in an email or document and the left mouse button doesn't accomplish that as it did until recently. It's the actual highlighting that I'm concerned with, not the copying, deleting, anything to do with URL, etc. Just why can I no longer highlight any text? Since so many others seem to be trying to ask the same question, I'm thinking this is not a personal problem, but a Microsoft glitch, eh?

  Are you not able to highlight the text or link by dragging the left click of the mouse?

  Do you get options when you left click on the link or sentence?
  

I suggest you to drag over the sentence or link by holding the left button of the mouse and check if the issue is resolved. Right click on the mouse to show a list of options to do with the highlighted sentence or link.

Highlighted text does not remain highlighted once I remove my finger from left mouse button.

I used to be able to hold my left mouse button down and drag the mouse over some text to highlight it and then presss CTRL-C to copy it. However, when I now release the mouse button the highlighted texts dissapears. The same when I paste, I can highlight
some text in the same way, but holding down the lft mouse button and drag along some test, the release mouse button and press CTRL-V to paste it, but instead it just un-highlights, then pastes it from where the cursor was, often just shunting what I has highlighted
along. Really really annoying...

As an experiment I have tried holding down the Shift key, then highlighting some text using the mouse, taking my finger of the mouse button, then CTRL_C and that seems to work and I can copy okay.

I'm on Windows 10, version 1709 at present.

The trouble all started when I switched on the magnify option, I think. As a result I have now switched off ALL magnifying options, which I did several weeks back, but the problem still continues.

I'm using a cheap USB Logitech mouse that was aupplied when I took delivery of the HP laptop.

One other sympton is that seem to have an issue copying and pasting as well. CTRL+C/V options don't always seems to work, and I have noticed that if I press the right mouse button it seems to paste something, more than likely what I last cut/copied.

 

my 3Dprinter doesn´t appear

My 3D printer doesn´t appear on when I open 3D builder on the left popup to choose printer.

Is it need to do any previous step?? I thought It was plug and play. the printer is an UP Plus2 from Tiertime so, it is one of the recommended partners manufaturers. any message of error just doesnçt possible to send the prin.
