Windows 10: left mouse click results in multiple random clicks

when I do a left mouse click it quite often results in a double or more clicks. If I change the mouse it still happens. if I switch left and right mouse buttons it goes away, but that is a really awkward way for me to work. I have deleted mouse in Device manager, which there are always 3 there, restarted and it comes back, as well as all 3 HID mice. I can delete 2 of the HID mice and mouse still works but double click issue is still there, eventually all 3 HID return. I have been monitoring it in a "mouse event test page" and it confirms what is happening.

Any ideas?

Random Left Clicks

Corrupted touchpad driver is one of the possible reasons why this issue is happening. We suggest uninstalling the driver to see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Open Device Manager.
  
• Double-click Mice and other pointing devices to expand.
  
• Right-click the TouchPad driver, then click Properties.
  
• Go to the Driver tab.
  
• Click Uninstall.
  
• Restart your laptop to automatically reinstall the driver.

Left click mouse

Perform the following steps:
1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy or paste:
2) sfc /scannow
3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
4) chkdsk /scan
5) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
6) Net user test /add
7) Shutdown /r
8) When the computer reboots sign on with the new user named test
9) Check the performance of the mouse with the new user named test and report the results into the thread
