Windows 10: Legacy Internal Floppy Drive support in Win 10

Windows Pro 10.0.19044It is my understanding that Win 10 & 11 still support the old legacy floppy drives. However, I have not been able to get the drives to be recognized after upgrading from Win 7 to Win 10. The device manager tools clearly indicates that the Floppy Controller has been recognized and the driver installed properly. I am also able to boot from the floppy into other OS's so I know that the floppy drive is working correctly. However, the Device Manager does not indicate that the floppy driver has been installed. There is no evidence of any errors associated within Dev

Not sure what you're saying

As to booting a USB floppy from a USB3 port, I just did it

• Dell Optiplex 9020 running Win 10 Pro x64 with legacy boot mode enabled in BIOS and secure boot turned off.
• And only running with Windows generic USB3 drivers as well (see pic below)

My first suspect is still Class filters. Will see what fireberd reports

Although, it just occurred to me. The USB3 driver isn't relevant to the discussion! It's all about BIOS. When booting from floppy device, Windows never gets loaded or starts

Trying to use 3.5 in external floppy drive on Win 10. Files are not listed; however, appears to be floppy drive listed under Device Manager.
