Windows 10: Legal to activate windows later?

Hello. I've just purchased a new PC and it was a big expense for me. I read on the internet that windows can be used for a long time without activation, so I intentionally bought the pc without a system to install windows on it and paid for activation in a couple weeks when I can afford the expense, however now with the watermark on my screen I am feeling doubtful if I am doing this right. I have full intent of paying for windows in near future, but will me continuing to use the system for this time be treated as acceptable? And if I buy windows through the microsoft store will it remain activ

You Can Also Try:

If you have a valid product key, use it to activate Windows:

Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Activation .

Select Change product key, and then enter the 25-character product key.

 

Windows not activated Legality

At section 5

It states the following :

Authorized
Software and Activation. You are authorized to use
this software only if you are properly licensed and the software has been properly activated with a genuine product key or by other authorized method.

So Is it legal to use windows 10 without activation ?

If not , why is it almost free and you can skip entering product key during installation ?

and why does Microsoft enable us to install without a product key if it is not legal to use it without activation?
