Windows 10: Lenovo Flex 15 - graphics & now DVD problems

Hi All, I seem to be suffering the same problems as many others. I was using a second screen via a displaylink adaptor on my Flex 15 laptop up until installing Windows10.
My laptop has an intel 4400 GPU, which appears to be unsupported by Windows 10, and is stopping the displaylink adaptor from working. It refuses to accept the latest official Intel drivers, saying they are not supported by Windows 10, and for older drivers it refuses to use them, saying that WIndows has detected an error with the device and stopped it (code 43)
That was the major issue up until today, when my usb DVD drive (a Lenovo Slim USB DVD-RW) stopped working also - it has been working for the last few weeks without any problems. - Again Windows won't accept the correct drivers for the device.




Wondering if the I made a major mistake in upgrading now, especially as my opportunity to revert back to Windows 8.1 disappeared at the weekend.

Has anyone got any glimmers of hope about how/when the correct drivers will be released, and how to get the OS to accept them? Really regretting 'upgrading' to Windows10 at present... *Sad

Tried all this as well and touch screen still not working. "will Microsoft offer a fix for this problem"? Contacted Lenovo and was told by someone far, far away that Flex 15 window 8.1 not compatible with driver for windows 10 using touchscreen on flex
15, therefore, my Lenovo flex 15 is just another pc and must use mouse. Lenovo has no plans to upgrade flex 15 to be touchscreen useable with windows 10. Said flex 15 not made to be able to use touchscreen with windows 10. Bull ****, between Microsoft and/or
Lenovo should have some brain figure this out and release a fix... I am just about ready to dump this and get a Mac.

 

Since downloading 10 I have no audio.

What Intel drivers are you using? Intel claims to support the 4400 graphics:

What drivers are you trying for the DVD drive? I haven't seen an optical drive in many years that used anything other than the generic Microsoft drivers.

Hi - I've tried installing the latest drivers from the Intel Download Centre, but Windows wouldn't install them - keeps saying that are incompatible with Windows 10 & then exits.

On Windows 8.1 the (external USB) DVD drive did use a different driver - but again Windows 10 doesn't support that driver. the latest update in device manager now says "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"

I think I join the author of that article in despairing in its instability. I've always shied away from Apple in the past, but this experience is starting to make me think again <shudders>
