Windows 10: Lenovo G500 driver support

Hi,
I have Lenovo G500, and I would like to do clean installation of Windows 10 (I prefer so rather than upgrade)
According to this thread in Lenovo:

This laptop may have issues with Windows 10 and I don't know how to resolve them or
whether they're still relevant.

Help removing windows 10 updates.

I have just purchased a Lenovo G500 and Windows Updates were on the recommended settings to download and install automatically. The updates downloaded automatically but before I installed I checked on Lenovo support only to find that Win 10 is not supported
for G500. (Drivers not available?)

Now I have not yet upggraded to Win 10 but have a problem:

How do I remove the update which has already downloaded itself to my laptop?

Before Win 10 update downloaded there were other Win 8.1 updates available which I wanted to downlaod but Win 10 jumped the queue.

Please let me know as I am being pestered by Windows 10 message to allow the updates to install and move me to Win 10.

I like the laptop and want to keep it but it is not fully functional due to this forced update which may break my laptop's functionality (See here for example: G500 - No Internet connection after Windows 10 upgrade - Lenovo Community

Who will take responsibility for this(Microsoft/ Lenovo?) that has happened as a result of me having the laptop at the recommended settings?

I have a 5 year old Lenovo G570. Reinstalling with Window 10 and no problems. Windows has all the relevant drivers installed directly. Only the card reader drivers I had to look. And that was not a problem.

Can you please tell me what are the consequences of a clean install?
does it delete Lenovo's recovery?
So windows installs automatically everything
And I guess I should retain the "Lenovo" D partition

 

If the recovery on C: is, then after a reinstallation of course all gone. Should the recovery but on D: there are no problem. For a Clean Install all previous data is lost. Therefore, the best back up any important data and folders.

 

OK, now that I try to get my usb to boot, I don't find it in the BIOS
what's more is that the BIOS states that Windows 8 64-bit is my
default OS. How do I change that?

 

The USB must be connected to be detected. If it is not detected the first time, keep it connected and reset the computer with CTRL+ALT+DEL. Then it will be available. But you don't need to change the boot order in the BIOS. You can just press F12 or whichever is the hotkey to select boot device. Select your USB and start Setup. When presented with available partitions, you can delete them all and proceed. Recovery won't work anyway without installing the recovery utility from Lenovo. After into Windows 10, you can click on the search icon (magnifying glass) and type Device. Click Device Manager to open and check if any device hasn't a driver installed yet. Visit Lenovo's site and download the missing driver. It is also a good idea to reinstall the graphics driver for best performance, as Microsoft's generic driver is rather basic.
