Windows 10: lenovo ideapad P500 screen can not be brightened. help.

my Lenovo ideapad P500 touch will not let me brighten the screen. help.

• my lenovo ideapad P500, windows 8 shows a black screen after the message " automatic repairs..."what can i do to fix this. is it a hard disc problem?

When I upgraded, I don't recall getting an error message of any sort.

I've tried updating the drivers but have had no improvement. I believe my husband and I tried to use the Windows 8/8.1 with no success either. However, we'll try the steps mentioned above and let you know.

Is it possible to go back to Windows 8.1 if none of this work?

To begin with troubleshooting I would like you to answer the following question:

  Have you got any error message when you had upgraded to Windows 10?
  
• 
  could you please tell me how did you come to know that Lenovo IdeaPad P500
  Touch is not compatible with Windows 10?
  

I suggest you to follow the methods below:

Method 1

I suggest you to run the hardware trouble shooter.

Run the Hardware and Devices
troubleshooter.

• Press Windows key + W and type troubleshooting.
  
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2

I suggest you to update the driver and check if issue persists.

• 
  Press Windows Key + R, type
  devmgmt.msc.
  
• 
  Expand the imaging device.
  
• 
  Right Click on the
  driver.
  
• 
  Click update driver software.
  

I also suggest you to download the driver from manufacturer website and run in a compatibility mode and check.

Method 3

For brightness issue,

First try to install all of the Windows updates available and if issue persists, try to update the Display drivers by following the steps provided in the article mentioned below.

If issue still persists, then install the drivers for Windows 8/8.1 from the manufacturer's website in compatibility mode and check if that works.

Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows
