Windows 10: Lenovo s740 bought at MS screen fading

Within a few minuets of turning on the product, the screen started to have waves at the bottom and also started fading darker and darker towards the right side of the screen darkest at the right had side of the panel. This would happen whenever I let the laptop go to sleep. I tried to reinstall the drivers and I also tried resetting the laptop entirely, however it wont work. The odd part is that the fading on the right side would disappear whenever I connected or disconnected and reconnected an external monitor through Thunderbolt 3. This means that the fading on the right hand side is not caused by a hardware issue, but a software issue. Another thing that I have noticed is that the bottom of the screen has waves of darker and lighter shades. I think this one is a hardware issue since it will not go away. Maybe the 4k panel is the problem but I don't know. Anyone have an suggestions.


Another issues that I have with MS is that THEY DONT HAVE A WARRENTEE SECTION FOR DEVICES THAT ARE NON - SURFACE. They gave me a faulty unit and yet they don't have a user friendly way to allow me to request for an rma. I guess I have to call them unless someone can help me out.

Omg. Okay thank you so much! The link you shared, No touchpad detected Windows 10 S740-English Community worked!. I don't know exactly which driver was the one that fixed it, but I installed from head to tail all the drivers on the lenovo website.

Lenovo S740 - Trackpad not working

Hi I'm in urgent need of my trackpad working because tomorrow is the day of a college exam which requires me to bring my laptop without a mouse.

I've just (3 hours ago) installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 1709 .

I've since used Windows Update to update to Windows 10 1909.

I thought Windows Update would provide the trackpad drivers but it didn't.

I've tried to download and install the provided trackpad drivers off the lenovo website but it didn't work. Here's the link to the download page for the drivers laptops and netbooks :: yoga series :: yoga s740 14iil - SG. But it didn't work also.

Things I've also tried:
"Scan for hardware changes" in device manager.
"Show hidden devices" in device manager.

Many online forum posts suggested to change a setting in my BIOS, but I couldn't find it.
