    Lenovo Think Pad X1 Gen. 9 fan running all the time even in sleep mode


    Hi, I have a Lenovo Think Pad X1 Gen. 9 and lately the fan is always running, even when I only have one program open. The fan continues to run even in sleep mode. I have the latest version of Windows installed and also the newest Lenovo updates. I have uninstalled all programs I no longer use and cleaned up the disk. The fan noise is really annoying and I am thankful for any advice.

    Lenovo X1 Carbon 9th Gen Wakes from Sleep When Plugging in Power

    I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon 9th Gen that powers on with fans going 100% every time I plug it in power when its sleeping, its super annoying and cant find anything online about it, not even sure where to start looking. Im running the most up to date version of Win11 and recently formatted clean slate about 3 weeks ago.

    Naaah, last and only time I updated BIOS I bricked the laptop. Let me see if holding SHIFT while shuting down would help permanently. English Community-Lenovo Community

    Short answer, yes, though you may see the intel management engine software already listed in control panel\programs and features. note the version # and compare it to the current version on lenovos website. uninstall your version if it's older before you re-install the newer version. If they are identical, don't bother. You might want to select the recommended auto update method this one time. You can always remove any app it requires afterwards.
