Windows 10: Lenovo Thinkpad e590 Charger Port Disconnects/Reconnects With 0 Sign of Damage

I posted about pretty much the same issue I'm having now, a few months ago, but now I have more to add. I've had an e590 Lenovo Thinkpad for under a year, and I had one of the exact same model previously for a little over a year. Both of them had/have the same exact problem.I'll be sitting down and shuffle just a teensy little bit and my computer will disconnect the charger and reconnect it repeatedly. I can't move it at ALL if I want to use it.I have gone through multiple chargers and this problem has stayed, and the charging ports are completely clean and undamaged. I take good care of my la

I've had an e590 Lenovo Thinkpad for under a year, and I had one of the exact same model previously for a little over a year. Both of them had/have the same exact problem.

I'll be sitting down and shuffle just a teensy little bit and my computer will disconnect the charger and reconnect it repeatedly. I can't move it at ALL if I want to use it.

I have gone through multiple chargers and this problem has stayed, and the charging ports are completely clean and undamaged. I take good care of my laptops, too, I make sure it's unplugged whenever I'm not using it.

I have tried literally everything I've seen online, and nothing is working. Almost no one is having the same problem I am. I REALLY don't want to buy a new computer.

I can provide any extra info I need about... anything. I am so desperate. I am so sick of this problem, especially because the screen goes black whenever it does this.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that your computer is having the charger constantly disconnecting/reconnecting.

It sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting, and I understand how you feel, it does suck,.

You mentioned that this is the second time you've purchased the same model of computer and it's still having this problem, in my experience this could still be a hardware issue, you could try charging it with a different power cord to test if it's working properly, but I think the quickest way would be to contact Lenovo's aftermarket department directly.

Your computer should still be in the aftermarket program so you can contact Lenovo for repair and replacement of the faulty hardware.

I feel pretty embarrassed by this but the problem went away when I got a 3rd different charger. This didn't work on my previous laptop though, but that thing is completely broken so it's not a problem lol. Thanks for responding!
