Windows 10: Lenovo Windows 10 Laptop Stuck at 51% while Factory Reset

I recently bought a laptop from a friend and I'm currently factory resetting it because they didn't have the time to. It's been stuck at 51% on the reset screen for about 3 hours now and I'm starting to get worried. It's been resetting for 7 total hours now. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do on this screen except for turning off the computer. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do?

Windows 10 factory reset stuck at 99%

I decided to perform a complete factory reset (remove all files and data) on my laptop running Windows 10 as the performance was low. It has been 24 hours and it is still stuck at 99%. I want to ask if this is normal when performing factory reset. Should
I wait more or restart?

Laptop specs-

Make- Lenovo Z50-70

Intel i5-4210U 1.7GHz

4GB RAM

1 TB HDD

Windows 8.1 & windows 10 : fail to factory reset and stuck in restart

Ztruker's post will get you to Win10, but if I understand the issue you wanted to fix a non-working Asus Win8.1 Factory Reset by upgrading to Win10.

My question is what OS do you want on your system, Win8.1 or Win10.
There might be a way to access the Asus recovery partition and do a reset from there - I think that can be done, but I would have to research the exact process to provide step-by-step instructions.

If you want to get to Win10 - then I mis-interpreted your post.

There seems to be an underlying issue on your system as far as the Asus Win8.1 Factory Reset issue is concerned.

The question might be moot if you've already started the Win10 Clean install.
Getting to Win10 is easy, getting back to Win8.1 after a Clean install requires a bit more work (windows.old and possibly the Asus Recovery partition are no longer available).

 

Laptop factory reset stuck at 99%

Hi.

I have an Acer laptop. I bought it a year ago and it came with Windows 8.1. This laptop has been updated to Windows 10 last month and it's running slow recently, so I've decided to reset it to factory settings. I used the recovery tool in settings and clicked
on "remove everything" and "clean up the drive" options.

Now the laptop stuck on the starting screen that says "resetting this PC 99%" for about an hour.

I did did deleted the Windows.old folder using the disk clean up tool after I updated to Windows 10. Is this why it's unable to reset to factory settings? What should I do now?
