Thats awesome Gary , a little surprising as well since boot times are one of the things many people are not quite happy with yet .

Yup, some people love being beat on , not normal but we may have a screw loose somewhere , thats OK , most people have a lot of screws loose.

So far I'm pretty happy with new lap top comes with wds 10
I disable everything but 1 in start up ..
Even bypass lock screen ..
boots up almost instantly .. *Wink

 

Phillips or slotted......... I prefer torx, it just sounds cooler.......

 

I was lucky to get a Win 10 disk as a present so could do a clean install with the key and so far it's running great with no issues at all with either drivers or software including older ones like Rocketdock. It's somewhat faster than Win 7 and after tweaking it to the max it just runs really great

 

Did you guys forget to update the drivers, or what? I hear living on the edge is fun and all, but... some of us gotta settle down at some point!

 

Didn't do a clean install but my computer is still much faster with Windows 10.

 

All my programs including Office 2013/365 are sluggish when starting, saving, editing. Also, I have been using Edge and I find that the web pages often freeze for a period of time, sometimes indefinitely requiring me to restart.

I have HP EliteBook that had original Windows 7, upgraded to Windows 8, and now using 10. Processor - Intel i5.

The email problem was solved by turning off Firewall (which made me a little nervous), but there seems to be nothing to fix the current performance issue.

A royal salute for all geeks out there, Rookie in this forum, but not in windows. i have a pretty fast PC with EVO 850 SSD, i made a upgrade to win 10 from 8.1 in order to get windows activated, afterwards i made a Clean install in a NEW 850 SSD i mentioned, After exactly 30 days i have to admit 8.1 is way faster than 10 Hands Down.
