Windows 10: Lexmark x5495 5000 series

    I bought a Windows 10 computer, but I can't get this printer to work with it. Lexmark are no help. The printer is very good and I don't want to scrap it. Any solution from Microsoft?

    Lexmark X5495 will not print

    I just upgraded to Windows 10 and my Lexmark X5495 will not print. Are there drivers available to work on Windows 10?

    Dear all,

    keep calm and ... keep the old X5495 too ... It works with W10 and all the major upgrade. Patient and the original CD are both necessary.

    Summarizing:

    1) Eliminate the "pseudo" device marked X5495 you obtain from W10 inserting the USB (yes! it is able to scan, but not to print!)

    2) start a new installation from original CD

    3) overwrite the current driver (not "generate a copy")

    4) reboot the system.

    Sometimes could be necessary to insert-reinsert USB, sometimes to repeat all the steps after the disinstalling of Lexmark Utilities, but if you are patient a lucky combination of new and old drivers will make you happy to not buy a new printer!

    Connecting Windows10 to a Lexmark X5495 printer

    I have upgraded from Window 7 to 10 on a Dell Studio laptop new to me and cannot get it to communicate to my Lexmark X5495 printer. I have downloaded the Lexmark Windows 7 (64bit) and installed that but with no success.

    Any Thoughts?
