Windows 10: LG 27" monitor with HDMI & windows 10 = headache inducing blurry text!

Look at how AWFUL windows 10 fonts and text are...I have tried so many solutions that I've read about online but NOTHING has worked! I'm wondering if either windows 10 fonts will not render correctly with this monitor model or windows 10 cannot deal with the higher resolution of HDMI...I've tried that incredibly ineffective and useless 'cleartype' turned ON, have all setting 'native' for my monitor, an LG27EA63...have tried using the 'revert to windows 8' small rendering program and at least a dozen other fixes and it still looks like utter garbage as seen below....At this point, I'm thinking I should try hooking up a VGA or DMI cable , and see if that looks better than this...the font quality and general picture quality is so poor, it's causing me headaches for extended use. Anyone have any other things to try tweaking? examples below...

Windows 10 - Blurry Text on laptop as Secondary Screen

Hey everyone,

I just ran into a problem in windows 10 relating the DPI scaling. At the moment my current setup is an LG monitor (100% DPI scaling) as my main monitor and my razer blade 2015 laptop (250% DPI scaling) being my secondary monitor. I noticed that if I have
this configuration the text on the laptop looks blurry but if I change the setting to make my laptop as my primary display and the monitor as my secondary everything looks fine, no blurry text on any of the monitors.

I must mention that the resolutions are on both screens at their recommended value ( LG - 1920x1080, Razer Blade - 3200x1800)

Any solution to this?

External monitor is blurry

Running Windows10 on Dell Inspiron13 5000 Series Intel Core i5 connected via HDMI to Acer KG271B Full HD 27" LED as external monitor. This monitor is blurry. Tried altering the settings on the monitor and also tried the display settings which are both set
to each individually recommended setting for the laptop monitor and for the external monitor.

This is not a high resolution monitor like 2K or 4K. Check to see what your DPI Scaling is set to, should be at recommended.
Mine is a 2K so should not be set like mine.

 

ok, so it's not hi res, but still the font quality should be WAY better than it is....I have a 24" at work running Windows 7 that is remarkably clearer and better...I've played around with that slider , including custom settings....no change...

 

I was just making an example as it can become an issue with 4K or 2K. Your should be set to 100% on that display page. Is Windows 10 up to date with graphics drivers and all other system drivers and windows update ?

 

I believe so, but I did just do a fresh re-install of windows...I'll recheck for my graphics card...

 

driver up to date as seen below ....such an infuriating issue!...I don't want to buy a new monitor but I'm not convinced the problem isn't a windows problem...

 

Double check AMD site for driver update for Display adapter. Did you try hooking another monitor to this PC, with same results ? Is this with every text you see on the screen being blurry or only certain applications ?
Have another HDMI Cable to try or try DVI ?
Check monitor settings on the monitor itself.

only monitor and pc I have...blurry on anything with text pretty much , especially windows 10 settings windows and inside web browsers (MS explorer, MS Edge and Chrome ..all equally horribly bad) ...I'm going to get a DVI cable from work and see it that improves anything...

 

just tried a swap with a high quality HDMI cable from my Denon receiver...no change....This really feels like a MS font rendering issue...

 

O.k., you did set the DPI Scaling back to 100% in Display settings ? You enabled Clear Type and you went through adjusting it by selecting each text that looked clear to you through this ?

Is this GPU Display Adapter built into the CPU and Motherboard, ATI Radeon HD, i believe it might be but i do not have those specs to see your board ? Does the ATI Radeon have a DVI connection to try also ?

I am not sure if it is the monitor, it's settings or something in Windows or settings in Windows, since it is only text and never stated images being blurry. Did you go through monitor settings ( menu on the monitor itself ) ?
One question i overlooked to ask when did this occur since an upgrade to Windows 10 or the purchase of this monitor or you always had this monitor ? Never really stated clearly on this.

 

I think it was also poorer quality in winows 8.1 as well now that I think about it, but definitely not this bad...it IS the tesxt that is most noteably bad but could be everything too, it's just the text is more noticeable because I'm always looking at it and it's harder on the eyes to read it versus looking at background/pics/content etc...I have already tried all the settings changes and tweaks for months into a couple years now, no change...

 

When i look back at your first post the text does not look that bad, plus this is through a browser on this site, not from text in an app or program on the PC for a screen capture. Have not tried a different connection,DVI or VGA to see if it solves it.
Older Graphics card built in or not to the board i do not know and now we feel it happened in Windows 8.1 so it may not be an issue with Windows 10 alone.

Unless you can try this monitor elsewhere or get another monitor on this PC and or try a different connection if you have one and a cable. Not sure if all else is blurry except text, take a good look ? Can you fill in the model of the ASUS Motherboard ?
Can not think of any other settings in Windows that is going to help, calibrating the monitor through windows deals with color, your not using Magnifier and your back to 100% on scaling, correct.
