Windows 10: LG DVD ISSUES

I have a LG Ultra Slim Portable DVD Writer, GP60NB50, used to work fine 2 weeks ago. Now it's saying that windows 10 doesn't support blue ray, dvd player. I've reinstalled the Cyberlink software that came with the device. Still no good. What can I do to get this dvd unit operational?

That's interesting because I have a LG DVD drive too. My Freezing reoccurred once today.

Same Issue with LG DVD drive unplugged it and been running for 4 days no lock ups.

We have deployed close to 50 computers this year with this dvd writer and all of them that are running windows 10 seem to be having this issue. No issues with the computers running windows 7.

LG just released a new version of this drive same model number but different rom. We are in the process of testing it to see if we have any more freezes.

So far the new ROM version Lg drive is working with no issues. Have not had a lock up yet.
Also on all of the computers we are having this issue on are clean installs of Windows 10 build 10586
The install was probably 10511 but has been updated since then to 10586
The new lg drive is
model number gh24nsc0
rom ver. LI00 that is Li00

The way we have come to the conclusion it was the DVD drive. We slowly replaced all the parts on the one machine that it was locking up on the most frequently. The last part we could replace and the most unlikely was the dvd drive. Just had a report of another computer with the same issue. Going to replace that drive and see if it solves the problem as well.

We have noticed the computers that we are using Samsung 950 pro 256g M.2 ssd we have not had any issues with yet.
