Windows 10: Libreoffice Calc malfunctioning/miscalculating

Coming from Linux I have some accounts in a LibreOffice "ods" spreadsheet file that I was using no problem. I installed LO 7 in Windows 10 and it seemed to working ok, but I didn't use it much. There is a macro in the file that I wrote myself and it wouldn't start until I installed Java runtime. So I did that, but to start with I installed the wrong version of Java. I then installed the correct version and let the macros run on my spreadsheet. Then things started to malfunction in LO Calc. The graphics were corrupt and some new calculations were incorrect. So I uninstalled Java and reinstalled LO. I did not reinstall Java. I reran LO and again it miscalculated a value. The file is old and maybe not compliant with new LO, perhaps it needs to be rebuilt, but I don't know. However I do not trust my installation of LO, and definitely won't try running macros again until everything else is good. What can I do, other than migrate to MS Office?

There do not appear to be any security problems in Windows 10 on my machine.

When I use LibreOffice Calc and save my file as an .csv LibreOffice suggest Western Europe as default encoding. I however want unicode-8 encoding.

The new version of win10: 1809-17763.437 has published.

BUT my office2007 persists the old disease: can not save the new file *.docx.

Friends suggested me to use LibreOffice. Please tell me the DOWNLOAD

Your observation is correct, and I found it was discussed as long ago as 2011.

I've not seen any way to deal with this- no option.

File, Recent Documents may help, although this list is common to all components- e.g. a xlsx file I opened in Calc appears in the Recent list opened in Writer - not what anyone would want.

Please note- this would be better asked in a Libre Office-specific forum, rather than one focussed more on the O/S as you would get more people familiar with the suite's features reading your post.

How I'd deal with this is to make use of Listary (free) which I have installed. This has many features, one of which is a favourite folders option. Thus in Libre Office's open dialogue I could middle click empty space, then select and click the appropriate favourite folder.
