Windows 10: Licence and activation of Win 10 nightmares

Hi I am trying to Activate window's 10 home edition single language and I cant get past that part of my licence for windows 10.I am signed in as an administrator with my Microsoft account but for some or other reason I get an error message that i am not online and that I should contact my administrator for further assistance. Any suggestions... error code 0x803FA067

There are two new entries in the Diagnostic report.

1. Activation Scenario Code:

2. ProductKey Code:

Both are blank on my PC.

My guess is 1. above relates to this VAMT Step-by-Step Scenarios (Windows 10) | Microsoft Docs - if so non-volume users won't be affected.

No idea about 2. - there are more than enougn PK entries already!... was hoping some more digital licencing stuff would come up.

Gonna have to do some more digging and testing,,,

 

Windows 10 activation question

Hi,

I own a legal licence of Win 8. Can I format my drive and install Win 10 and then activate it with my Win 8 key? Or will I have to install Win 8 and then upgrade to Win 10?

There has been so much written about all the ways we can upgrade but I haven't seen the answer to this yet. I want to do a clean install and don't want to do an upgrade.

Get Windows 10 with a Win 7 licence.

It has always been possible to upgrade an activated W7/8/8.1 to W10. The ability to clean install with a W7/8 key was added in 1607.

I don't know about the clean install, but a few days ago I was upgrading an XP machine to W10 (in order to use some installed software). This requires an intermediate upgrade to W7 which I activated with a key. That then upgraded successfully to W10 1903 and activated, so I see no reason why the clean install with a W7 key should not also work.
