Windows 10: License Transfer Eligibility

I have (2) Windows 10 licenses, one for my PC (an actual key, upgraded from Windows 7) and another for my VirtualBox VM (a digital license). Due to performance issues with the VM, I converted it to QEMU. As expected, the license did not transfer over due to the new "hardware" the system detected.


My overall goal is to get rid of the PC build and only run Windows in the QEMU VM. It will eventually have access to most of the real PC hardware via pass-through. Are any of my licenses eligible to transfer to the QEMU VM? I really don't want to spend another $119 when the VirtualBox VM is basically in mothballs.

i bought the license. My laptop was originally loaded with win 7 and was upgraded free couple of months.

in this case, if i understand you correctly, i can transfer with below steps. Right.?

and to my question do you have an update.

does OS upgrades if my activation key is changed.
