Windows 10: "life time" for unactivated 10162?

Clean installed 10162 when it first came out, but never activated it. Played and now want to reinstall clean again as a "temp" until Win10 official. Assume it is good at least 30 days if I can get that far now, but can't be sure.

This box is normally not connected to web. As I understand, I'll have to install/activate Win8.1, pretty much Win Update to current, reserve Win10, occasionally connect to Win Update near/after Jul29 to get installable update, install Win10, delete oldWindows. Sure wish it would be possible to get Win10 iso and just clean install with Win8 license...

It means that it's waiting for approval from your operator and it has nothing to do with Nokia.

You could call your operator and ask about this approval, someone in technical service may know that how long it takes to approve the newest firmware. (For some reason, every operator has to approve the firmware updates and only after that their clients
can do the update)

i have a nokia N8 with the following product code 059D1M2 im always checking for the update realase , now its been a month evryday i check the updates availability i find " Waiting for approval" is nokia joking on us or what !!?

 

All BETA software tends to have a limited life, usually determined as a period after release of the finished product. To get the free Win10 Upgrade one has to meet the requirements of installing from a running Win7 w/SP1 or Win8.1 computer. This page speaks to the expiration date:

I was just wondering if the "not activated" status made a difference. I'm only wanting 10162 until I can upgrade for real rather than using an interum with Win8.1 that I have to tweak heavily.

Yes, I know I have to have a Win8 license to get the free upgrade. Just lamenting the hassle...
