    I find no utility to the far left side space, I'd like my thumbnails are just found under my nickname.
    I want to delete this :

    Window 10 Start Menu and Night Light Setting not working properly

    Hi,

    I got a green screen of death showing on my pc so i used the window 10 media creation tool to reinstall my pc. I had just did a updated my Window 10 to version 1709 and discover a few issues

    1) the start menu is not working correctly anymore. I had unpin the app tiles that are showing in the start menu and also resized the start menu but after restarting the system, the start menu always revert back to the original setting. the app tile still
    showing and the start menu changed back to the original size.

    2) the Night light turn/off button is grey out. I am not able to turn on the night light function. I can go to the night light setting but all setting configurations are grey out as well.

    I have not encountered the above problems when I opt for the Window Insider Program. The night light function is working and I can remove the tile and resize the start menu with no problem. These problem arise when I reinstalled Window 10 and change to the
    1709 version.

    Please advise what could be the issue and how can i resolve them

    Hey thanks !!



    I just wanted to start a Thread about this. Because in the Menue of my 5800XM there is an option to activate it, and the icon next to it shows a signal light, that is on the side (!). So i was wondering, if my phone is not working.



    this small menue light i did oversee all the time ^^



    Now its clear to me.

    Light Start menu

    That space on the left is usually filled up with most used programs and apps. If this is a fairly new fresh install then you won't have any programs showing. The list should start building up over a short period of time.

    I don't want to have that kind of list in this menu.
    The thumbnails on the right side completely enough for me.

    If you just want the thumbnails (Tiles) then you're probably better off using the Start Screen.
