    Limited connectivity after Windows 10 upgrade - Web filter issue


    I recently upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7 and spent the last two days pulling my hair out and cursing microsoft because nothing I tried would restore my internet connectivity. I knew that I could connect because I could hit my gmail and google search while in chrome only, but nothing else worked. I tried removing AVG, disabled my firewall, re-enabled my LAN and wireless, etc., etc.

    I finally figured that it was something that was blocking my internet access to certain sites, but it wasn't a firewall and I don't have BitDefender, so what could it be? Aha! I remember that I had installed a web filter to keep out the porn sites called Net Nanny. Deleted that sucker and poof, I was back in business. Not sure if Net Nanny is even compatible with Windows 10, but I don't think I'll be trying to re install it.

    Intermittent WiFi wit Windows 10

    Immediately after upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 I started having WiFi issues. Usually when I startup my laptop I have WiFi. Once I started trying to move from web page to web page, I will lose connectivity. I will either have limited connectivity
    or no networks are available.

    Since I have two networks, I can usually switch to the other network and it will work for awhile. But, eventually it will kick me off due to limited or no networks available. Sometimes the only way to get the network to reconnect is to restart the computer.

    This is definitely a Windows 10 problem. I had two computers running simultaneously. One computer, with Windows 10 had limited connectivity, while the other computer with Windows 7 had full connectivity.

    I tried using the Ask Desk, but after a 2.5 hour wait and a 1 hour chat, the problem remained unresolved. This issue has made my laptop virtually unusable. I tried the suggestion for no connectivity, but it did not apply to me as I do not have DNI_...

    It's not just the time limits. Content filtering of the app store and web filtering don't work either.
