Windows 10: line skips while typing. Touchpad is turned off. windows 10

ASUS gaming notebook. On my previous notebook, this problem was fixed by setting the touchpad to turn off if a mouse was detected.

I have done this, and the problem persists.

It usually happens if I am doing an insert-edit on web forums or in email.


There seem to be tons of reports of this problem, but I cannot find the one with the correct solution for me.

Please point me to the correct one, thanks.

There are several factors to consider for this kind of issue. First is the make and model of your computer, next is the build of your Windows 10. If you want to completely disable the touchpad function on your computer, we would suggest to uninstall
it from the device manager.



Here’s how:

• Press Windows Key + X and select Device Manager.
• Under Mice and other pointing devices, look for the driver for your Touchpad.
• Right click on the driver and select Uninstall.

One way of turning off the touchpad temporarily is by turning it off in the Settings. Kindly follow the steps below to do it:

• Choose Devices.
