Linux to Windows 10 Hardware Help Needed I think :)

My grandson has a home built computer with a MSI Z370-APro Motherboard that used to have Windows 10 on it, but after a friend repaired the cpu, the friend downgraded it and gave it back with a i3 cpu instead of the i5 it had. So now the Grandson is spending a couple months with us and it's my job to put Windows 10 back on it, but there are issues.

I know nothing about Linux, and the computer was running Linus without an issue I am aware of. But using the Windows Media Creation Kit, I made a bootable Windows DVD install disk and a bootable AOMEI Partition Assistant thumb drive. Using the Partition Assistant, reformatted the drive and overwrote it with zeros. Then using the Windows DVD install disk, I started to install Windows Home. And what happens is that everything looks good in the first two steps of the install, when the screen turns blue, I get a message of "a problem" and "gathering info" and then it turns off. It shows one of those square boxes with data in it, that if I could get a picture of that, I might be able to search on line, if that shows what the issue is with the Windows install? But it disappears pretty fast as the installed shuts down. Advice requested.

I've been reading online that bad memory is something to check, so I downloaded the Memtest 86 app and made a bootable thumb drive with it on it and when I run that to check memory (8GBs) it shows 7 errors and then the test quits and says "too many errors to continue". Now the interesting thing is that when I boot the computer into BIOS, it recognizes the 2- 4GB sticks.

So from a trouble shooting aspect, before I started the computer was running Linux Ubuto. Can anyone tell me if this memory test failing is a clear indication of an issue with the memory installed in this computer? I'm at a point, where I either troubleshoot, or I start replacing components. Before I did the memory test, I would have put a new hard drive in it, but I'm wondering if the memory instead should be replaced?

    Thanks!

    :)

Help removing Linux Mint and installing Windows 10

Just do a clean install of Windows 10. In one of the early steps you'll be given an opportunity to format the drive that has Linux.

Before you begin, I suggest checking to see if your hardware is supported on Windows 10.

Guide: How to enable, use, and configure SLI on Linux.

I guess the next logical step would be to report on the performance you can get with SLI in Linux. That'd be my suggestion anyway.
