Windows 10: Linx terrible keyboard

I have a Linx 12x64. The provided keyboard and on tablet keyboard are terrible. Some letters do not come out unless you press real hard. It cant even keep up with my old man typing. I have had it about 18 months and its never been great but is now in effect useless.

It seems to be random letters but almost every word.


Any help gratefully appreciated.

Linx Laptop

It's not LINUX but Linx, nothing to do with Chromebook either and comes with W10 Home. Judging by Linx 14US
looks like decent lightweight hardware and should be quite enough for everyday use. It has only 64GD drive and I'd suggest you ad some more storage space in form of an Micro SDHC / XC memory card.

I have the Linx 7 and the forum has proved to be very useful, I would suggest you'll need to get a usb hub which you can connect to the device and use mouse/keyboard on but that forum should also have a default image which you can use to re-install Windows
10 to the device and try again.

PRE-REQUEST

Step 1: Windows Version & Latest OS Build

• To check your latest build:
  • Windows Key + R
  • Run window will open
  • Type:
  • winver
  • And press enter to open About Windows
  • Cross check whether you have latest Version & OS Build
  • Till Today: Windows 10 Version 1607 & OS Build
    14393.693
• You may achieve latest version through steps 2.
• If you have a latest version, go to step 3.

Step 2: Windows 10 Anniversary Update(Version 1607):

• To download & install Windows 10 Anniversary Update
• Microsoft - "Download tool now"

Though you have upgraded to latest version of Windows, please proceed to step 3.

Step 3: Windows Update(OS Build 14393.693)

• Once again update through Windows Update
• Follow this steps:
  • Click on Windows Key
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Update & Security
  • On left panel click on Windows Update
  • On right panel under Windows Update click on Check for Updates

If still getting an error proceed to step 4

Step 4:
Check & Restore windows integrity

• Click on Windows Key
• Type Command Prompt
• Right click on Command Prompt
  and run as Administrator
• Command Prompt window will open and type the following command and press enter
• DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth && DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

• Do you get any error or message??

Step 5: Scan your system

• Scan your system by Windows Defender(Recommended) or antivirus program

If still getting an error proceed to step 6

SOLUTION TO KEYBOARD

Step 6: Keyboard

• Are you connecting the keyboard that came with a Tablet or the different one?
• Normal Keyboard Settings:
  • Windows Key
  • Go to Settings
  • Ease of Access
  • On left panel click Keyboard
  • On right panel, cross check the settings
    • On-Screen Keyboard
      • Make it on and check: Does on-screen keyboard works as well as keyboard that was attached?
    • Sticky Keys
      • Make it off
    • Toggle Keys
      • No change
    • Filter Keys
      • Make it off
    • Other Settings
      • No change
• Try connecting another USB Keyboard on Tablet, Does the issue is resolved?
• Try connecting this keyboard to another system(PC/TABLET/LAPTOP), Does keyboard works as expected?
• Does you see any indicator when keyboard keys like Caps Lock, Num Lock (or Scroll Lock) are pressed?
• Are all keyboard keys are not working?
• What is your keyboard OEM Name?
