Windows 10: List index out of bounds (3) meesage

    List index out of bounds (3) meesage


    Installed the HEREDIS 2018 software upgrade (had the 2017 edition) in a new laptop (W10) and when it attempts to open everything stops and the message "List index out of bounds (3)" appears. I click OK, and nothing...


    The installation was perfectly OK and did the restart as prompted (not once but repeatedly) but nothing corrects the issue (not even re.installation)...


    Help please

    Hello Bree,
    Thanks for the answer.
    First I opened the address in your answer, updated Chrome, then checked those video clips separatly in a player - all are ok.
    Then I tried to call the videos from the index list opened in Chrome, some still refused to play.
    Opened the index list in Edge - all of them played. Then opened the index list with the original internet explorer - got an error message for each video - file is corrupt.
    Cunclusion - I will open the index lists in Edge, but to make the indexes best is with Chrome.

  3. Indexing is not working

    Hi Doc,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    This issue may occur due to corrupt Windows search files or settings. I suggest you to follow the below method and check if it helps.

    Method 1: I would suggest you to run search and indexing troubleshooter
    and check. Please follow these steps:


    • Type troubleshooting in the search box on taskbar.

    • Click troubleshooting in the search results.

    • Click "View all" and then click "Search and Indexing".

    • Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions.

    Method 2: Check if Indexing and Windows Search services are enabled. If not, enable them, if they are already enabled, then disable Windows Search Service and then enable again and restart.


    • Press Windows key + R.

    • Type services in the run box, go to the Windows search services and restart them.

    OneDrive no longer in list of folders to index in "Indexing Options"

    Ref: Windows 10 Pro Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.48)

    Dear All,

    After an Windows update today, OneDrive folder is no longer listed as a folder available for indexing in the "Indexing Options" control panel.

    I have tried restarting, deleting the index, unlinking PC from OneDrive and relinking.

    Any suggestions?
