Windows 10: List of working apps/programs

Since the latest build has the kernel revision to 10 (that escalated quickly), I'm curious as to see if this is causing any programs to not work, work just fine, or work in capability mode.

List away!

Missing list of programs

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that, you have an issue with computer performance displaying installed program list in Programs and Features.

• 
  Did you make any changes to the computer prior to this issue?
  

This issue may be caused due to damaged/corrupted Windows system files.

Let us run SFC scan and see if it brings any difference.

Step 1: System File Checker

The sfc /scannow (System File Checker) command scans all protected system files, and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

• 
  Press ‘Windows + X’ keys.
  
• 
  Click on ‘Command Prompt (Admin)’ to bring up an elevated command prompt.
  
  Note: Click ‘Yes’ if it prompts for permission.
  
• 
  In the command prompt type in the following command and then press
  Enter.
  

sfc /scannow

Step 2: Let us try to create a local user
account in Windows 10 and check if the issue persist.

You may also check in the Windows.old folder, and see if you find the installed programs.

Glad you brought this up. I was wondering why my WinVer is 10.0, my Hardware Abstraction Layer reads as 10.09926.0 but my Current Kernel Version still reads as 6.3 !?

(Gotta go!)

 

I just tried the Alarm again, Set it to play a WAV file on Alarm.. and it simply gave the default alarm sound - It DID Not Play the WAV File! Just like I said - BJ

With regards the List of Apps that Did Not Work, I was able to track down a Fix and Now they ALL Work, but like I said about the Alarm, Not All Work Properly - BJ

 

Dragon Naturally Speaking Home 13 will not install.

Thought I'd try some old design software, (new version)
Heck, this package is bigger than MS Office!

 

My mouse software does not work in W10. It opens up but is shaded out and takes no input, even when trying to run as admin, or compatibility mode

It works now

 

I was able to successfully install this program by disabling all English dialects except US standard. However, when I start NaturallySpeaking, it disables Cortana completely. I just upgraded to build 10049. If there is any change, I'll report it.
