A few weeks ago my computer started crashing blue screen. Reliability history below. It may be related to my Presonus Studio One software and audio interface IoSTATION24c, because it occurs on days that I use that software but not while I am using the software. However, I dont see anything in the reliability history that I can interpret as directly related to that software/drivers.

    :)

  2. LiveKernelEvent, Product: 768_1, system freeze and games crash.

    Hi lesbonnah,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It sounds like a LiveKernel Event 141, Product: 768_1 occurred on your Windows 10 which cause a frozen system and games crashing. Sorry to hear this. The major reason for this error is associated with your hardware components including the hard disk, memory, and GPU. In addition, corrupted device drivers, overheating and software conflicts are responsible for the Live Kernel Event 141 error as well.

Here are solutions you can try to fix it.

    1. Check disks.

Type: cmd from the Windows search box > Right-click on Command Prompt and click Run as administrator > In the open command prompt window, enter: chkdsk C: /f /r [C: refers to the drive letter of the system disk, you can change the drive letter according to the actual location where the application is installed] > Hit Enter key to run the command.

    2. Scan and repair corrupted system files.

Press and hold Windows+X to run Windows PowerShell (Administrator) and run the following commands respectively in sequence:

    SFC /SCANNOW

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Allow the process to finish and see if it solves any problems. Restart the device later.

    3. Update your graphics driver to the latest.

Press Windows + X and open the Device Manager > Expand the Display Adapter > Right-click on your graphics driver and select Properties > Click Uninstall > After that, visit the brand manufacturer's official website and download the latest version of the driver and install it.

    4. Perform a clean boot on your system.

Temporarily close the third-party security programs and optimization software that may exist under the system (with a firewall nature) > Press and hold Windows+R > Enter: msconfig > Hit Enter > Click on Services > Check to hide Microsoft services > Click Disable All > Reboot the device, and confirm if the problem solved.

Disclaimer: A clean boot starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem. These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step so that it will help you get you back on track.

We need to go through a series of steps to find the real cause of the problem. If the above steps do not solve your problem, please let me know and I will continue to assist you with the problem.

    Best regards

LiveKernelEvent, Product: 768_1, system freeze and games crash.

Greetings all. I am trying to figure out what hardware is causing my system freezes and games to crash *all games, whether they are being played or not*. When i check the reliability monitor, it shows my crashes / freezes in real time. Below is the results, all red X's, show hardware error, each time i was gaming. Each one, shows *First pic* crashes, *Second pic*, results of each crash. Below, under the pics, will be a list of what i have done to prove its my hardware but cannot figure out what part. *NO i have no replacement hardware*.

Here is the memory dump i hope you need: I have had this problem on going for 2 months.

What have i done to try and pin point the crashes.

    1. Reinstalled OS, 30 times always updated the OS patches, with all vital and none vital drivers for OS, *Motherboard, GPU, CPU, sound, Ethernet etc*.

    2. Swapped out 1080TI for 480 RX, and still crashed same amount times.

    3. Used USB windows boot, my system made, my wifes made, and 2 friends made USB boot for me.

    4. Connected to Xbox Cloud gaming, I can play ANY game online cloud gaming, for hours, and days *I have done it and no crashes*, as long as I do not launch games from my system.

    5. I have edited Registry *Regedit* following online suggestions

    6. I have modified shortcuts with special arguments to launch games with or without DX12/DX11 etc.

    7. Stripped my system, installed 1 hardware item at a time, all work as they should.

    8. Ran Memory scans and diagnostics through boot up.

    9. Swapped out HDD and SDD and Sata drives. Installed OS on 3 different types of Drives

    10. Ran system in safe mode for gaming and still crashes.

I am out of options besides buying a whole new system, also this system is built ground up over the last 10yrs, most parts are new as of last few years. Would appreciate any help in figuring out exactly what *Hardware* is causing this, so i can swap it out and keep my system running.

Thanks ahead of time for your time.

    Les

    Hi lesbonnah,

To provide you with an accurate solution, your blue screen log files are necessary. We will check if there is any valuable information for resolving the issue after investigation and analysis.

    • You could press the Windows+R key combination, paste %SystemRoot%\Minidump, and run it to get the blue screen log.
    • If there is no log in the check:
    1. Right-click the Start logo button in the lower-left corner, select System, click Advanced system settings→Settings (startup and failure recovery)→Select Minidump in Write debugging information drop-down menu, and confirm;
    2. Then check the virtual memory settings, click the Settings (Performance) → Advanced tab Change → check Automatically manage paging file size for all drives → and exit after continuous confirmation.
When the blue screen is displayed again, the log file can be found in the same way as before.

I have just sent you a Private Message where the attaching of the .dmp file is possible.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
