Load A Random Lock Screen Image From Folder

Hello, so I am curious if there's a method to have the computer pick a random Lock Screen image from a folder with pictures.
Is there a 3rd party program that can do this? I was thinking of maybe somehow making a Macro using Macro Express to run the macro when the computer Logs Off or Shuts Down, so the next time it loads, it will pick a random picture... BUT this process is tedious and may take a lot of time to make/figure out.

So let me explain. Don't get me wrong, I love my Lock Screen image so much! (I attached an image of my Lock Screen). But maybe every time I load the computer up, it will load another one of my favorite pictures. That would be very nice. But keep in mind that this is Different than the Lock Screen Slideshow. The Lock Screen Slideshow loads when the computer is idle, and I don't want to change anything with that.

As you can see in the attached picture, every time I'm at the screen with my account name & password box, I see this picture. I love seeing this picture all the time, don't get me wrong. But it would be nice to see another randomly picked image from a select few images from a folder.

    Thanks

Windows Lock Screen and Desktop Background Slideshow Options.

I have set a folder with lots of images to the slideshow mode for both my desktop background and lock screen, but I was wondering if there is a way to change the size of the images. I have chosen the "Fit" option as it shows the most of the pictures. What
I would like is to have the images in their original size or shrunk a bit so they are less grainy. Is there an option to change the sizes of the images for screensavers?

Also, when in the lock screen, the first image that shows up is one of the "Spotlight" images. I would like to remove that image and have it instantly start with one of the random images in my wallpapers folder.

Lastly, when on the lock screen slideshow, multiple images sometimes show up that are shrunk and mashed together on the screen. I would like one image at a time to appear in the slideshow, but I do not see any options for that. Again, I would like to have
the images downsized so they are not so grainy.

    Thanks for any help.

  3. Feature Request: Random change of lock screen image from folder

    Windows 10

    On Settings, Lock Screen, Background:

    Add: "Picture (randomly change)"

    Config:

    • When "Picture (randomly change)" is selected, add "Choose Album for your random picture selection." (much like the current 'Slideshow' option Album selection).
    • Another option could be how often to change:
      • Daily
      • Every x hours
      • Every Lock Screen (new image for each lock screen)
Currently: When a user tires of the same Lock Screen image, they manually change it.

Request: For "Picture (randomly change)", select a different image from the selected / configured Album. Each time the user is presented with a Lock Screen, they see a different image from the Album. The system would select the image from
    the album randomly.

Notes: This is not a request to replace the Slideshow option. For this new option, when the Lock Screen is viewed, the image would remain static (not change) until the next Lock Screen (after logging on to a Windows session and subsequently
coming back to the Lock Screen by one of several mechanisms, whether it be for the home user or the corporate energy saving policy member.

Also, this would be a much more energy efficient option than the Slideshow option, since it would just select a single image and the monitor would still power down per the Power settings just like the standard "Picture" option. It merely displays a different
image each time (or on a scheduled basis) the Lock Screen is invoked.

So this allows a user to display their own images, their favorite images, etc. over time without a) using a Lock Screen slideshow, and b) also having a desktop Screen Saver configured. On that last point: Windows 10 currently does not allow there to be
a Lock Screen Slideshow configured simultaneously with a Desktop Screen Saver configured. This new option would appease to the users that are unhappy with that restriction.

Lol ok cool. You added text to where you can find that village *Smile

My favorite part is where the location of the center magnifying glass just happened to be on that picture *Biggrin

*Also do note, the picture that I posted is actually the image itself, that's not the exact screen shot of my Lock Screen. There's a way to take a picture of the Lock Screen a different method, because Print Screen doesn't work when the computer is Locked, but I didn't want to go through the small hassle of figuring out how to do that.

First, let me say, that's a lovely picture and, Thank You! *Smile

I took your image and put it in the C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets folder along with the full coded name change, henceforth the quips, but I can't get two or more to work!

Wow okay cool! I appreciate that you took an attempt to do that 'manually'. Hope it wasn't too much of a hassle.

I agree, It's a wonderful picture, because I just love how beautiful that lady is, and I love music, and birds, and nature. All credit goes to the creator of that image: https://esmira.deviantart.com/art/Mu...rise-393756069

Before I posted asking on here, I did a quick 10 minute 'research' attempt to see if there's a 3rd party program that can do a random image loader for the Lock Screen. Yet I just happened to skim through a page that showed me that same folder location of what you stated. Yes the files there are combinations of random characters, but I opened them all and saw the pictures. The images are just weird random images, and I just browsed away from that page because it didn't make sense. I didn't want to remove those 'files' (images) in that location. You stated 'quips', I guess I didn't want to figure that out. But that's really cool that you actually were able to get that picture to work using that location. Too bad there's no advanced option to randmoly pick a picture from within that folder. I don't want you stressing yourself trying to figure out how to make more than one picture to work. Maybe there's a 3rd party app out there, or maybe some advanced script in Task Scheduler that can do that. Hmm, I'll look around some more, and if I find anything, I'll post back here for if someone would like to use this idea for their computer too. Still though, I'm open for comments from you Edwin, and everybody! =)

Dang! The PERFECT idea came to me for if I wanted to make a macro to run when Logging Off/Shutting Down the computer!!! I pre-planned how I could set up that script in my head using Macro Express. The only condition is if I can find the location in RegEdit that has this info!
TOO BAD I wasn't able to find that in there! I did a search for "Esmira" (because of the image's file name), hoping RegEdit would find anything to do with that picture... but sadly it didn't.

Here's a few more images that I may want to have as the Lock Screen. (As you can see, I like to pick quality in images)
