Windows 10: Loading screen after interupting window 10 reinstallation at "It's taking longer than we...

I tried to reinstall window 10 using ISO file, it ran smoothly to 100% and after that it got stuck at "It's taking longer than expected,...". I shut down the laptop thinking it was frozen, then I turned it on but it shows a loading screen and i kept waiting for multiple hours. I tried interupting that and restarted many times, it's still that loading screen now. I tried automatic repair but there wasn't "reset pc" option and only "troubleshoot" available. +Startup Repair option couldn't do anything. +Tried sfc scannow in cmd but it couldnt fix with "window resource protection,..." probl

Well that's why I asked. Mine is on SSD and takes 11 seconds. Your list of games will not appear if it has not checkd for updated suggested settings for awhile until it checks.

When it says it is refreshing the game list, it is checking, because NVIDIA periodically updates suggested settings. Plus it will look for those for new games you have installed.

So, the less it is run, the slower it will be.

 

1803: takes a little longer to load the welcome screen

In 1803 when starting my device or restarting it, the log in screen takes a tiny bit longer to load then normal. I ran a clean boot and found out that the issue is not there in clean boot. Did check the services one by one in msconfig but didn't solve the
problem, unless the steps were done wrong. But the Answer Desk agents as well as the level 2 tech couldn't fix the issue. Anyone have a fix for it? I need Microsoft's help on this issue. This happened only in 1803. I suspect it could be a bug.

 

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!
