Windows 10: Local and distant sessions on 2 differents account with the same PC ?

Hi,My wife and me have to work from home. She use my desktop Win11 Pro and I work from my SurfaceBook 1 Win10 Pro.Some of my stuff and apps are installed on my desktop only and I would like to open a remote desktop from my SurfaceBook to my account on my desktop while my wife is on it with her personnal account : both local and remote session on the same OS.I heard it is possible with GNU/Linux or MacOS, so I would like to know if it's possible with Windows, and how ?Thanks !

Local account installation question

I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are

• Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
• No Internet connection during the install
• static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)

 

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.

Switch Microsoft Account and Keep Session Data

Hello

I have an old PC which i switched to Windows 10 two or three years ago and my session became a local account.

But some time ago, a family member accidentally converted my local account to a Microsoft account and my PC is now linked to his account.

I want to change this but i did not found a way to do it without formatting. So I'd like to do one of the following :

• convert the Microsoft account back to a local account
• switch the Microsoft account without loosing any session data

If there is a way to do one of them, i'd like to know.
