    Local Disk G:

On This PC on my computer there is a new disk that just showed up Local Disk G:

When I double click it Bit Locker G: load key from USB drive.

When I click on load key it says a valid key wasn't detected.

What is this? Do I need it? Why do I have it? Is it new in Windows 10? How can I remove it?

    Please Advise

  2. Local disk G

    Hi mjking,

Open a command prompt with administrator rights and enter the following sequence of commands:

    diskpart.

    list disk.

select disk {number} eg. select disk 0

    disk partition

    select disk partition {number}

    clean

    that's it

when you open the command prompt and write diskpart than other command window will open than follow the sequence and identify local disk G with disk space comparison when you see diffrent disk partition and finally delete it .

try it and i am here to help you if not solved.

  3. LOCAL DISK (GLocal Disk G: :)

ABOUT A MONTH OR SO AGO I STARTED HEARING THIS WINDOS MESSAGE SOUND WHEN I WASN'T ON THE COMPUTER. NOW SENSE ABOUT A WEEK OR SO AGO I'VE STARTED SEEING WHAT THE MESSAGE IS. "LOCAL DISK (GLocal Disk G: :) IS RUNNING OUT OF SPACE etc."

THE PROBLEM IS THERE IS NO LOCAL DISK (GLocal Disk G: :) UNDER MY CONTROL. THERE IS A LOCAL DISK G WHEN I CLICK ON FILE EXPLORER BUT WHEN I CLICK ON THIS ICON IT SAYS THERE ARE NO FILES, FOLDER IS EMPTY. BUT WHEN I RIGHT CLICK ON THE ICON AND CLICK ON PROPERTIES I GET
    THIS:

    Local Disk G: e8f00e67-9ddc-4296-8457-ac7be388534d?upload=true.jpg

NOW IS LOCAL DISK (GLocal Disk G: :) A LEGITIMATE DISK USED BY THE WINDOWS FILE SYSTEM? AND IF SO WHAT DO I DO ABOUT THIS MESSAGE?
