Local Drive C: showing as a folder

Hello,So I recently upgraded to windows 11about 3 months ago but I noticed 3 weeks ago that my local drive does not show as a drive icon but as a folder icon, I downloaded external antivirus software thinking it was a virus/malware but still nothing. Yesterday I noticed my Zoom and WhatsApp apps show as unknown files but when I click on them, they still open. Please can anyone help me with this? I am so close to formatting my laptop and I have a VM workstation on it I need for work so please any help will really be appreciated.

    :)

  2. C: drive

    Hi Viva,

If you recently made some changes on your machine and needs to access
    C: drive
, you can do it by following the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + E.
    • On the left pane, click This PC. It will show you list of different folders. For
C: drive, it may look like this.

  3. RM Folder in C-drive

    Hi,

For us to isolate the issue, did you install/download anything prior to this folder showing up on your C: drive? We suggest that you first run a scan on the folder to check if there's any potential virus/malware.

    Looking forward to your response.

Local Drive C: showing as a folder

Documents/Pictures folders under 'This PC' refer to onedrive - not the local folders

Thank you for the quick response, Micah.

My documents are already being saved to 'This PC only'.

The Documents folder in the libraries is correct (local drive).

The Documents folder in the quick access area is correct (local drive).

The only thing that is incorrect is the documents folder under 'This PC'?

Also is 'winhelponline.com' affiliated with Microsoft?

    Thanks again
