    Local Files not showing in the Taskbar Search like it used to earlier


    My Dell Laptop originally came with Windows 10 Home and one of the most used features for me was the Taskbar Search option. I am lawyer and I have thousands of documents containing a lot content and in such scenario, the Taskbar Search was was really easy and convenient to use since it would display the files stored locally on my desktop right in the Taskbar Search without the need to go any specific folder or use File Explorer Search.However, this changed when I updated my Windows to the latest Windows 11, and is causing my grave trouble to make my search count and get the document that I am

    Taskbar search

    Did not do anything to help. The search in File Explorer works fine. The first and last screen shot shows a search leading to no results but the file explorer finds them just fine. The last one shows my indexing options.

    Windows 7 Search Results Display "Earlier this..."

    My work is still using Windows 7, and all of a sudden my search results are grouped by "Earlier this month", "Earlier this year", and "A long time ago" when I search locally. When I search a network share the results just show up as a single list, sorted
    by whichever column I have selected, which is what I want. When I sort by Name or Type or Size the local results are still grouped by "Earlier this...", but the network results are in a continuous list sorted by whatever I selected. I would like search to
    return all of the matching files without grouping them by "Earlier this...", and making me click "Show all...". I know I've got to be overlooking something but can't for the life of me figure it out.

    Latest update now makes it so that pressing search shows suggested

    Welcome to Ten Forums. You can't make it exactly like it used to be, but you can turn off 'Suggested'. In Settings > Search turn on search history, suggestions will be replaced by a list of your recent searches, which you should find to be far more useful.
