Windows 10: Local server not listed

Discus and support Local server not listed in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I just upgraded to Win10, and although I see the local network workstations listed my server is not.     I just upgraded to Win10, and although I see the local network workstations listed my server is not. How do I connect to the server? 192.168.1.9 dosnt work

    Remote access to my (local) server's folders

    • Set up an FTP server on your file server.
    • Map the FTP server as a network location on your laptop under "Computer".
    This will allow programs to open and save files directly to the FTP server just like it was a drive in your computer.

    Local account installation question


    I'm fairly certain that Skip this step was available in 10.0.130 - the workaround in Step 20 (back button) is no longer required.

    The currently known, as of 10.0.130, ways to create a Local account sign-in are
    • Skip this step at the MS account creation phase
    • No Internet connection during the install
    • static IP (post# 2 by Fragment) - New (to me anyway)
