Windows 10: Local User login on Win 10

Hi I purchased a dell xps15 and set up win10 as a work user. I then proceed to add a local user. I was asked username, password and set up 3 security questions.


However I was unable to login as a local user, as the login screen ask for an email address and password. I was never asked to input an email address in the initial setup of the local user. Can anyone tell me how can I login as a local user?

Use a Local user Account to login to Windows 10 PC

Difference between Win 10 login and User name and files

• The login you want to transfer the files from is the Microsoft account or the local account?
• Which build and version of Windows 10 do you have installed on your computer?

• Are you trying to login the Microsoft account or the Local account?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• Did you make any recent changes prior to the issue?

If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking.

• 
  At the login screen click on the power symbol.
  
• 
  Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.
  
• 
  After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
  
• 
  Select advanced options under
  Troubleshoot screen.
  
• 
  Click on Startup Settings.
  
• 
  Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to
  Safe Mode with networking and check if you are able to login.
