Windows 10: local users and creating new users cant log in to a microsoft account because the gui does...

Whenever i try to log in to microsoft from a local user or while creating a new user, the gui to do so appears for a split second then closes, and as such I am unable to log in to microsofton netplwiz on the first try it says unable to connect to microsoft services, on every other try it is the same as abovethere is no error messageWhat I have already tried:update windowsmake sure its not a problem with my microsoft accountmade sure windows was actually activatedrebooting the pcshutting down the pc for 24 hoursswitching userlogging out and logging back increate new user with netplwizchecking n

  Are you trying to create new user account using Administrator account?
  

I suggest you to run SFC scan.

Creating more than one local user account

This issue might occur, if the on which you have currently logged in is not administrator account.

To assist you better, please provide few details.

  The account on which you are currently logged in. is this standard account or administrator account?
  
• 
  Are you trying to create a Microsoft account or local account?
  
• 
  How exactly you are trying to create a new account?
  

As per your query, I suggest you enable the build in administrator account, change the exiting account as administrator and then try creating a new user account.

Follow the below steps:

Step 1: Enable Build in administration account.

1) Press Windows + X key together on your desktop screen.

2) Click on Command Prompt (admin) to open Command Prompt.

3) Type the following command and hit Enter:

net user administrator /active: yes (Check for the spaces)

4) Now log off from the current user.

Step 2: Log in to your computer, through Build in Administrator account.

1) Press Windows + r and type netplwiz, press Enter.

2) Select your existing user account.

3) Click on Properties button.

4) Click on Group Membership tab and check on
Administrator.

Step 3: Log out from Build in Administrator account, login to your existing user and then try creating a new user account.

Unable to create new local user account

I do not know why it should not work for you but you can use this method instead:

1. Create a desktop shortcut for cmd.exe.
2. Right-click this shortcut, then left-click "Run as administrator".
3. Accept the challenge. You will get a black frame.
4. Type these commands and press Enter after each:
   
   net user "wob1" 123ABC /add
   
   (to create the account wob1 with 123ABC as a password)
   
   net localgroup administrators "wob1" /add
   
   (to promote the account to admin level)
