Windows 10: Location not available C drive.

I dont know if anyone is there but am in an emergency. Yesterday my Laptop shut down on it own and when it restarted, it had changed and gone back to its original settings. I was working on a project but was able to recover the files which seemed to be on another User Desktop. When I opened it today, it had gone back to its original Desktop but all my files are deleted. I cant find them. It gives me the same warning when I try to recover them. The tutorials I see are mentioning restoring the Desktop which isnt my problem, I just lost my folders and progress. Location is not available - can not access C drive

Today I was confronted by a error message when I tried to save a file in my Documents folder on the laptop hard drive, C drive. It states:

Location is not available

X C:\Users\XXXXX\OneDrive\Documents is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted and then try again. If location is on a network, make sure you are connected to the network or Internet,
they try again. If the location still can't be found it may have been moved or deleted.

The drive is Drive C on the laptop.

This does not involve a disc.

I have been connected to the Internet during this process.

The data from my C drive is available on the One Drive, so I can access it. But C drive is not assessible.

I don't remember deleting C drive or moving it in its entirety to the cloud.

How do I either recreate my C drive or move/copy my data from the cloud to my hard drive?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

  Press Windows +E,
  
• 
  Right click on C: drive.
  
• 
  Select Sharing Tab.
  
• 
  Click on Advanced Sharing.
  
• 
  Uncheck “Share this folder”.
