Windows 10: Location not available on E: External Drive

Scenario 1When my system boots up Windows 10 OS, the first window pops up is as per the screenshot below -I cannot access any files on the entire folder/file structure or C: drive. Even on clicking Ok, it disallows.As soon as I connect my external hard drive, which has the entire path and files under that path, everything works fine.Scenario 2When I restart my system with the external hard drive connected, I am able to work fine and have full access to the file structure.Requesting your help and thoughts on this. Any indication/suggestion would help immensely. Thanks in advance.

Changed the 'downloads' location to E-Drive. Couldn't reverse!!

But the problem is whenever I click the properties of Downloads
folder, it is showing the properties dialog box of E-drive partition. How could I solve this?

 

External drive

You've mentioned that you were able to try some of the troubleshooting steps that was provided by a Microsoft online agent, we'd like to know if you were able to roll back the said driver as well. If not, kindly follow the steps listed below and check if
it helps to resolve the issue:

• Press Windows Key + X then select Device Manager from the list.
  
• Locate the external driver and right-click to open the Properties option.
  
• Go to the Driver tab and click the Roll Back Driver button. Click
  OK.

Note: The Roll Back Driver button is only available if a previous version of the driver was installed. If the current driver for the device is the only one that was ever installed on this computer, then the Roll Back Driver button is not enabled.

Location is not available F:/ is not accessible. Access is denied. External hard drive

Most of the time, when your external hard drive shows that error message, it suggests that you don’t have the privilege of accessing to the disk partition. We need to get a permit to take ownership of the drive. Follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
  
• Right-click your hard drive, then select Properties.
  
• Go to Security tab.
  
• Click Advanced, then select Edit.
  
• On the Owner tab, modify the ownership of the specified account.
  
• Click Apply, then OK.
