Windows 10: location of NTUSER.DAT file?

Discus and support location of NTUSER.DAT file? in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; I'm trying to fix a Windows 10 app problem and want to delete/uninstall completely.     location of NTUSER.DAT file?


    I'm trying to fix a Windows 10 app problem and want to delete/uninstall completely. The problem is with an app installed by a second user of the PC.
    In order to do this I want to edit registry for this user. So, I want to load the hive for this user. But I can't locate the NTUSER.DAT file. I've looked in Users/user, but this only contains folders, no files. I have hidden files as viewable.

    A C: drive search doesn't find the file either.

    ntuser.dat

    I opened a bogus email from Amazon that had a tab for purchase details which I tried to access.

    Did I allow someone to have access o my computer?

    I noticed a ntuser.dat file created the same day as the email with 8,704 KB. Should I delete this?

    location of NTUSER.DAT file?

    You have the location right but making hidden files visible isn't enough. You must also uncheck in folder properties "Hide protected operating system files".

    Need to use File explorer menu: View->Options->Folder Options->View and untick the property.
