Windows 10: Location of Running Apps on Taskbar has moved 2024

My Windows 10 taskbar is on the right because, with wide monitors, horizontal screen space is less valuable than vertical space. As far as I know, I didn't install any updates this week... although it may have been automatically done to me in the background.Running apps used to a week ago stack *below* my shortcuts. Now, they puff out the width of the taskbar, and appear in miniature to the right.This is bad for many reasons: *they disappear when you hover over them they don't stop running, they just become blank!*there's no easy way to tell which instance each one is when you have 4 bro

Moving the taskbar

You can customize your taskbar to pin your favorite apps to it, move it to where you want to display on your screen, and specify how taskbar buttons group together when you have more than one window open. To address your question, we suggest
that you follow these steps on how to move your taskbar to a different location on the screen:

• Open Settings and choose Personalization.
• Select Taskbar.
• Under Taskbar location on the screen, click the drop-down menu and select
  Bottom.

Sudden changes in the location of the taskbar can occur due to misconfiguration in Windows settings. But you don't have to worry, you can modify the location where the taskbar will be displayed. Follow these steps to change the location of your taskbar:

• Right click on your taskbar.
• Choose Taskbar settings.
• Look for Taskbar location on screen. The drop-down button under it will let you choose your preferred location for the taskbar.

How to drag and move the taskbar on Windows 10?

Sorry to know that you are unable to move the right side vertical boundary of Start menu. I will certainly help you.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it resolves the issue.

Step 1: Right click on the Task bar
and uncheck the option Lock the Taskbar and then try to drag and move the Taskbar to the location you wish.

Step 2: If above step fails, right click on Taskbar and click on
Properties.

Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window opens, select the location under the drop down menu of
Taskbar location on screen.
