Windows 10: lock a particular folder

my laptop's device encryption is failed due to some unknown reasons ,hence the bitlocker is not in function .I need to protect some folders by password ,the “Encrypt contents to secure data” option is greyed or disabled in the advanced option in properties of the context menu .I need the device encryption to be enabled or the “Encrypt contents to secure data” option to be available so that i can protect my folders.

Folder locked and dissapeared after unlock

Well here's something i found on this:

But it doesn't work here , i don't have that folder.

Can somebody help me searching for a solution , tnx.

EDIT:

I did that and that's when the folder just disappeared but the data is still there, the program is very confusing about restoring files , it says that "files should become unlocked automatically" ... so where the heck are manual unlocking instructions.

It's not an encrypt , it's just a password lock , so data is all open. The problem is, i would get like 225 GB of individual files off the HDD recovery , i just want the harder way of accessing the folder but getting the folder structure , where can i find the time to SORT 220 GB of data omg.

 

Particular folder sharing is not happening.

Actually I want to share one of the folder through network sharing internally in another system. I selected the folder nd went to properties and shared the file and selected everyone nd shared.

So i have shared the folder.

But the problem is in another system when i enter the system ip of that particular system which i shared and entered the credentials...

Its showing all the users folders ,desktop, and documents Everything...

I don't wanted to show all.

Only particular folder should be accessible.

I have tried all troubleshooting steps..

Like entering share folder name and selecting proper path nd all... But still it didn't work.

Kindly suggest wt can be done for this...

I need to share only that particular folder.

Free Folder Lock?

Is there a free Folder Lock?

I know that windows has feature that can make your folders invisible but it dont lock right?

I am seeking a program that lock folder and make it invisible but free. is there exist? or only the pay ones?
