Windows 10: Lock screen coming up when clicking Power button / standby

hi guys,


this has been going on for a while, i have a ASUS VivoBook S15 S510UQ which i really like, runs very well. I am on Windows 10 2004 H2 currently. Latest NVIDIA drivers and latest Intel video drivers too.


"Almost" Every time you click sleep, you see the lock screen As you would push windows + L for a couple of seconds, like 1 second, then the PC goes to sleep properly.


Correct behaviour, would be click power/standby and go to standby right away, black screen, done.


Not a MASSIVE issue but it is annoying for sure and not intended behaviour.


I did already the scansfnow thing whatever is called, nothing changed and NO i don't want to re-install windows, out of the question as the PC is perfect other than this thing.


shall i re-install the power drivers?

Pc will not wake up from Standby

When i go into standby mode then click any button or press power button the computer the monitor is still blanked out. and will nto come back on. any suggestions?

 

Power button no longer locks screen

Originally,when i purchased my Surface pro 4 a few days ago, pressing the power button once would lock my screen. However, pressing it once now brings up the shut down screen. Are there any suggestions to fix this? Changing what the power button does in
settings doesn't help.

From the description it appears that, Power button is not functioning as expected and it always does some other function while pressing it.

I suggest you to run the Power troubleshooter and check if it helps.

1) Type Troubleshooting in the windows search box.

2) Click on Troubleshooting and select the
view all option on the left pane.

3) Click on Power troubleshooter and follow the prompts.

I also suggest you to run the Hardware and device troubleshooter and check.

  troubleshooter

  In the left pane, click on View all
  
• 
  Now click on Hardware and device and follow the on screen instruction.
  

I also recommend you to contact the place of purchase and check if they can help.
