    Lock screen loop on button press


    One day I turned on a Windows 11 laptop and it was able to boot normally and display the lock screen.The problem is, in the lock screen when I press a button, it will not display the enter password prompt and instead loops back to the initial lock screen with the clock and date. This always happens no matter what button I pressed. This is not my laptop, but my friend's laptop and she asked me to fix it. She needed this laptop to acce

    If you can not slide the lock screen it may well be an issue with the digitizer.

    The only other suggestion I have is perform a hard reset to return the device back to factory defaults. If that does not work, you will have to send it in for repair/replacement sushi21.

    Steps to hard reset using phone buttons:

    • With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons, and then briefly press the POWER button.
    • Wait for the screen to show the instructions on how to do the factory reset, and then release the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons.
    • Follow the instructions onscreen to factory reset your phone.

    I would suggest you to follow the below steps to try resolving the issue.

    Setting the timeout for Lock Screen

    • Press Windows + I and select personalization.
    • Select Lock screen.

    • Select the Screen Timeout setting.
    • Select the time of timeout you need and check.

    Hi Graham,

    Changing some settings on your computer may help resolve. Follow the steps below to show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen:

    • Open Settings.
    • Click Personalization, then Lock screen.
    • Turn ON Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen switch.
    • Lock your computer to test.
